IMG_6525I support: Newcastle United

My first live football match was: Newcastle United at home to Leicester City in December 1994. We won 3-1, with well known Newcastle defenders Philippe Albert and Steve Howey doing what they did best. Scoring.

My greatest footballing memory is: Newcastle United beating Middlesbrough 3-1 in 2009, a huge win in our relegation battle. I watched it in a London pub with many fine gentlemen, who took their shoes off “for the lads” in celebration. Weeks later we were relegated.

The greatest player of all time is: Other than Alan Shearer? It must be Messi, pipping Maradona and Ronaldo at the post. Pipe down Pele.

The worst player to ever play for England is: Michael Ricketts.

My least favorite thing about the modern game is: It’s a toss up between Jamie Redknapp and ever escalating ticket prices. Jamie Redknapp.
